Massimo Tagliavini

Massimo Tagliavini obtained in 1990 his Ph.D. at the University of Bologna, where he has worked as associate professor (SSD. AGR/03) from 1998 until 2007. From 2007 he is full professor at the Free University of Bolzano-Bozen where he teaches Fundamentals of Tree Science, Horticultural crop ecosystems and Orchard and Vineyard Management. He served as dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology from 2008 to 2014. His main research interests include eco-physiological aspects of tree productivity, and water, nutrient and carbon fluxes in tree ecosystems. He has published about 200 papers, 60 of them in international peer reviewed Journals. Invited speaker at many international conferences, he has edited few national and international books. Member of the editorial board of the European Journal of Agronomy and Tree Physiology. He has served as editor of the Journal of the Italian Society for Horticultural science (Italus Hortus) from 2005 to 2013. He is currently chairman of the WG on Mineral Nutrition of Fruit Crops of the International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS). He has organized several international conferences under the aegis of ISHS. From 2016, he has been appointed as vice/president of the private research Center “EURAC” of Bolzano.

Marco Marchetti

Marco Marchetti si è laureato in Scienze Forestali a Firenze nel 1984. Professore Associato a Palermo dal 2000 al 2003, dal 2005 è Professore Ordinario di Pianificazione Forestale (SSD AGR/05). Attualmente è Prorettore Vicario e alla Ricerca e Presidente del Centro di Ricerca per le Aree interne e gli Appennini (www.aria.unimol.it) dell’Università degli Studi del Molise, dove è stato Presidente del Corso di Laurea in Scienze Forestali e Ambientali e Direttore del Dipartimento di Bioscienze e Territorio. E’ membro del Comitato per lo sviluppo del Verde Pubblico del MATTM e Presidente della SISEF – Società Italiana di Selvicoltura ed Ecologia Forestale (www.sisef.org) e deputy representative per l’Italia nella IUFRO (International Union of Forest Research organizations). Editor in Chief di European Journal of Remote Sensing, Associate Editor e referee di numerose riviste scientifiche nazionali e internazionali. E’ stato Chairman del Scientific Advisory Board di European Forest Institute (2012-2015) ed esperto della Segreteria Tecnico Scientifica del Ministero dell’Ambiente, ricercatore presso il Joint Research Centre della CE, Direttore delle applicazioni ambientali geospaziali presso società del gruppo IRI negli anni 80 e 90. Si occupa da 30 anni sia come coordinatore che come responsabile scientifico di progetti di ricerca nazionali e internazionali nella gestione, tutela e monitoraggio dei sistemi forestali e degli habitat naturali e delle risorse ambientali, assestamento forestale e selvicoltura, pianificazione ecologica del territorio, inventari forestali multi-risorse, cartografia tematica, bio-monitoraggio, valutazione dello stato e conservazione della biodiversità, cambiamenti di copertura e uso del suolo, pianificazione delle aree protette, habitat prioritari. Opera anche nel monitoraggio e valutazione di programmi e di politiche pubbliche e di interventi cofinanziati dai Fondi comunitari e come valutatore di progetti nazionali ed europei. E’ autore di più di 250 lavori su riviste scientifiche peer reviewed (120 con IF) e di monografie, trattati, contributi in volumi, curatele e di numerosissimi interventi in convegni e conferenze internazionali.

Giuseppe Corti

I was born in 1961 and I obtained the Baccalaureate degree in 1989. I became Professional Agronomist in 1990 and got the Ph.D. degree in Soil Science in 1993.
Languages spoken: Italian (mother tongue), English (fluent), Spanish, French.

  • I collaborated with the Italian Research National Council (CNR) to study the neogenesis of clay minerals in 1990 and 1991, and collaboration with CNR continues till nowadays.
  • From 1994 to 2002 I was Researcher in Pedology at the University of Florence (Italy).
  • Since 2002 I am Professor of Pedology at the Polytechnic University of Marche, Ancona (Italy), where I held at least two regular courses (12-to-15 credits) per year in addition to courses (1-to-3 credits) addressed to PhD students.
  • From 1994 to present I have been member or responsible or coordinator of projects funded by European Union, Italian Ministries, National Science Foundation (USA), and Local Administrations (Regions, Provinces, Municipalities, National Parks, Marine Parks).
  • From 1995 I have been member or coordinator of scientific expeditions, excavation campaigns and study trips in Italy, High Arctic Canada, Sweden, Germany, Belgium, France, Spain, United Kingdom (Scotland and Northern Ireland), Ireland, Czech Republic, Slovenia, China, Greece, Romania, Tunisia, Alaska (USA).
  • In the last 5 years I acted as referee for 13 Journals with impact factor, and in the year 2011 I have been Lead Guest Editor for a special issue of the journal Applied and Environmental Soil Science. In the year 2012 I have been invited to write a Guest Column for Soil Horizon.
  • From 2008 to 2011 I served as invited professor within the frame of Erasmus Programme at the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela (Spain) where, in 2010, 2011 and 2015 I served as docent of the International Doctorate Committee.
  • In the 2010/2011 and 2012/2013 years I have been member of the Ministerial Commission for the carrier progression of University researchers working in the sector of Pedology. In 2014 I did the same for the carrier progression of professors.
  • From 2009 to present I have been serving the Italian Society of Pedology (SIPe) as Secretary and Bursary, and the Italian Society of Soil Science (SISS) as Member of the Steering Committee; from 2015 I am president of the SISS 3rd Division “Soil use and Management”. From January 1, 2016 I am President of the SIPe. I am also member of the International Union of Soil Sciences (IUSS) and of the European Society for Soil Conservation (ESCC).
  • I have been member of organizing committees of several national and international Congresses and Workshops. For example, I am now member of the organizing committees of the “Pedological days” to be held at Modena (Italy) in 2016 (with the auspices of the Italian Society of Pedology), and of the European Society for Soil Conservation Congress to be held at Cluj Napoca (Romania) in 2016.
  • I have been invited speaker at international and national congresses and conferences and seminars in Italian and foreign Universities.
  • I have been referee of pedo-agronomic projects for the Georgian National Science Foundation (Georgia) in the years 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014.
  • I have been referee of soil related projects for the Executive Government Agency for Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation Funding (Romania) in the year 2015.
  • I am member of the editorial board of the "Italian Journal of Agronomy", “Pedosphere”, and “Alexandria Science Exchange Journal”.
  • I am author of 70 scientific papers published in impact factor Journals, 3 book chapters and 2 monographs.
